Serving Our Neighbors

Local Outreach

The Dismas House, a center which helps integrate into society those who have been in prison, is a recipient of our support and concern. MVCC is one of the congregations that provides evening meals for Dismas House. (website)

East Central Ministries

ECM is a community located in the heart of the international district of Albuquerque striving to live in faith through programs, partnerships, and relationships that are happening day-to-day.  (website)

Elevation Children's Center

Habitat for Humanity

Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity seeks to build lives as well as houses. Through the houses we build, hope is restored and lives are changed as the cycle of need is broken. (website)

New Mexico Conference of Churches

A community of Christians across the state. We work to build relationships across denominational borders in order to live into Jesus' prayer that we all may be one. The fruit of these relationships in Christ is a common mission to respond to those in need and to advocate on issues of importance.   (website)

Parents Night Out

Free babysitting for our neighbors once a month---see Parents Night Out page.

Tennyson Center for Children
Monte Vista has had a strong tie with the Tennyson Center in Denver. This is a home for children "at risk" who need tender loving care. We support the home in many different ways, including our annual back-to-school "dress a child" campaign.

Week of Compassion

Each year in February we observe Week of Compassion through what is called "One Great Hour of Sharing." We also collect Week of Compassion offerings during national or international crisis'.
