Community Outreach

Habitat for Humanity of Valencia County and Monte Vista recently joined forces
to make the first "House in a Box" in response to the floods in Belen. Click

Monte Vista has been a long-time supporter of Samaritan Counseling
Center. Samaritan Counseling center has an excellent counseling staff
and seeks to minister to a variety of spiritual, emotional, and family needs.
Their number is 842-5300.

The Dismas House, a center which helps integrate into society those
who have been in prison, is a recipient of our support and concern. MVCC
is one of the congregations that provides evening meals for Dismas House.

The Blood Mobile is a frequent visitor to Monte Vista. There are many
members who share in donating this gift of life.

The Storehouse, is a long-time friend of Monte Vista. The church has
a collection box for clothing, non-perishable food and small household items
for the Storehouse.

The Dorothy Turner Ecumenical Memorial Seminar is held annually at
Monte Vista. This seminar, established to explore issues of concern to a
broad cross-section of the community, brings in outstanding speakers and
offers "cutting edge" information for community and health care professionals.

CounterCulture worship
meets in our facility on Saturday nights at 7:37 p.m.

The church facilities are used by many additional groups, including the Wild
Flower Group, New Mexico Conference of Churches, Youth and Service Groups,
Bereavement Groups, Twelve Step Recovery Groups, and many more.
